In September 2005, The 100-Minute Press published a version of the Bible they called the 100-Minute Bible (see BBC website story).
We made it the subject of the October 2005 edition of Views on the News on this website.
This sparked people into thinking about how they might write shorter versions of the Bible designed to attract people into reading the full Bible itself.
Below, we give some ideas for The 100-Word Bible.
You are invited to send us your ideas and, if we like them, they may be added to this website.

by Richard Littledale God speaks, a new earth is born. The world is spoilt and God floods it clean. The promise is shrouded in slavery but found again in freedom. Judges judge without justice and kings rule without power. Meanwhile prophets keep the hope alive, singing of a better day to come.
The promised child is born and the better day comes.
They call him Jesus, in hopes or expectation.
Rejected by his own earth, he dies a cruel death, and undergoes a miraculous resurrection. Empowered by him, new prophets sing a new song.
Hope lingers now on a new horizon.
