What
is Alpha?
Alpha is for anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian
faith. Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian
faith and have fun at the same time. People of all ages are welcome.
Helping one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues
raised in the talks.
Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too
simple or too hostile.
Who
is Alpha for?
Those wanting to investigate Christianity.
New Christians.
Those who feel they have never really got going as a Christian.
Those who want to brush up on the basics.
What's
involved?
A typical evening Alpha course begins at 7.30 pm with supper followed by
a video and a talk from different speakers. We then divide into smaller
groups for coffee and biscuits and discuss any question raised, aiming to
finish by 10.00pm.
Sometimes we run a daytime or lunchtime Alpha course as well for those who cannot get
out in the evenings.
There is an opportunity to go on a weekend away. This has been a key
part of the course and a great success in helping people to get to know
each other.
