Scouts
The 1st Teddington Scouts now meet on Wednesday evenings in St Mary's Hall, Teddington.
The different groups (Beavers, Cubs,
and Scouts) cater for ages 6-15½ for boys and ages 10-15½
for girls. There is also a mixed Venture Unit for young people aged 15½-20.
The aim of scouting is to encourage the spiritual, mental and physical
development of young people so they may take a constructive place in
society. They aim to provide an enjoyable and attractive scheme of
progressive training based on the Scout promise and law and guided by
adult leadership.
For more information about the Scout movement try the
Scout's official UK
website.
Note: The 1st Teddington Scout Group stopped being sponsored by
Teddington Baptist Church from the beginning of September 2001.
This decision was taken because of difficulties in recruiting sufficient
scout leaders from within the church fellowship.
Wednesday Night is Church Night
This is not really an organisation but it has a central part in our
church life. Nearly every Wednesday evening throughout the year, we will
meet as a Church. This may be for Bible study or prayer. It may be in
groups in homes or all together at the Church Centre. It may be for
fellowship or to discuss and decide on strategic issues at a Church
Meeting (for Church Members only). To be sure what we are doing in any
particular week, check the Church Diary or
for more information tel: (020)-8977 8000 or use the TBC
Contact Points.
