A couple of weeks ago I stepped out of the hustings held at the church and commented that there was not the slightest chance that I would vote for one of the more whacky independent candidates.
The person to whom I was speaking quite rightly reminded me that we were both fortunate to live in a country where such a candidate could have their say and we could choose to vote for them or not.
Freedom is a heady brew, and we lift its cup to our lips with caution.
Occasionally we spill it through carelessness and at other times we drink too much and forget ourselves.
