The Teddington Society
Helping to make Teddington even better
The Teddington Society was formed in 1973 by a group of local
residents whose wish it was to preserve the character of the town and
support local community projects. And this remains the aim of the
Society today. An executive committee meets each month to discuss any
changes that might have been proposed and/or improvements that might
be implemented to protect or enhance Teddington. The Society is
non-political and non-sectarian.

Groups
There are five working groups which, between them, look at most
aspects of the quality of life in Teddington. These are:
- Historical Research - to undertake new research projects
and publish booklets about Teddington.
Paddy Ching
- Planning - to monitor all planning applications and make
representations where necessary.
Douglas Barrett
- Riverside and Open Spaces - to take an active interest in
all matters relating to the local riverside and surrounding areas.
Ann Sayer MBE email
- Roads and Transport - to look at problems concerning
roads and transport difficulties in Teddington and to protect and
promote the interests of rail and bus passengers as well as cyclists
and pedestrians.

- The Environment Group (TEG) is very actively involved in everyday issues like litter, waste bins, graffiti, composting, fly-tipping, fly-posting and re-cycling, and, indeed, looking after the recycling sites themselves. Recent major campaigns have included Teddington toilets, pavements, and A Boards.
TEG is also continually seeking to bring global issues to a local level in Teddington and improve its environment, particularly with regard to climate change, oil peak levels, pollution, and plastic bags.
